As a measure to keep my students and community healthy, I am happy to offer online lessons to all current and future students. For several years, I have taught private voice lessons via video chat to students who live in other states. In light of the current situation, I am going to extend that option to all of my voice and piano students.
I am looking forward to attending a virtual NATS workshop this weekend to gain new tools and insights into online teaching. (If you are interested in attending you can register here. It is open to everyone.) https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/6381896846120815628?fbclid=IwAR3PENyfzuDeCTNw9jyDLtYuyLaaqSZdefihYVLS2KWYcyZ4araixv0pYAE
My plan is to keep informed and evolve as needed. As of today, I am still offering private lessons in person at my studio in Ovation Academy (they remain closed on an extended spring break, following the lead of McKinney ISD), Music & Arts in McKinney (they do an incredible job sanitizing several times a day), as well as in home lessons. I urge you all to only attend in person lessons if you and your household are all in good health. Even if you are in good health, feel free to take advantage of online lessons. They can be really fun and may relieve stress about risk of exposure.
Finally I want to encourage you all to keep singing and playing the piano and making music!! Music is good for your mental, physical and emotional health. Also, try to keep consistent in your lessons. It is good to have a sense of normalcy and routine.
