Christina Dragoo’s Biography

Hi, I am Christina Dragoo.  I have 20 years of experience as a professional singer and a voice teacher.  Originally based in Los Angeles CA (using my maiden name Christina Marie Linton), I now live in Dallas with my daughter.  I am happy to welcome adults and children to my studio.  I teach in two locations, one in Addison near the Dallas Galleria and the other in McKinney.

I began my musical studies at the age of 2 when I begged my parents for a violin.  They very generously rented a 1/16 size violin and started me on toddler music lessons. Eventually I traded violin for voice, earning my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at Lawrence University and attending the Bel Canto Institute in Florence, Italy.

Having performed with Opera Pasadena, Center Stage Opera, Repertory Opera Company, the Secret Rose Theatre, California Opera Ensemble, Golden West Opera Theatre, the Sierra Madre Playhouse, at the Alex Theatre, The Viper Room, the Renaissance Fair, in Los Angeles Fashion Week, and the Florence International Music Festival, I developed a reputation for the beauty of my voice and my skill as an actress.

I have also had success as a vocal music educator.  My students have sung at Disney Hall, Angel Stadium, on the TV show “Ugly Betty,” with the California Philharmonic, Repertory Opera Company, Opera Pasadena and have appeared in numerous musical theatre productions.  I Served as Vocal Music Department Chair at the Claremont Community School of Music from 2008 – 2010.  And in 2012 I recruited and trained 3 outstanding voice teachers for the school.  The CCSM voice department is now widely recognized throughout Los Angeles County as a place of excellent vocal instruction.  I enjoy teaching (and singing)  a wide variety of musical styles and I have experience helping everyone from beginners to professional singers.
